Helping European SMEs to grow: start-up and scale-up initiatives for Business Ventures in the EU

The main recent initiatives launched to help European SMEs grow are parts of the flagship initiatives of the Commission: the investment plan, the single market strategy, the digital single market, and the capital markets union. A November 201 6start-up and scale-up initiative includes measures such as a pan-European venture capital fund of funds, an EU insolvency law, a simpler tax regime, and innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem support, a new frame work for intellectual property and a focus on providing the workforce with the skills businesses need.
