The Visibility Crisis:
How the Digital Markets Act
is Impacting Europe’s SMEs

The Digital Markets Act (DMA) was introduced to create fairer digital competition. However, its implementation is leading to unintended consequences for SMEs. Functionalities crucial to visibility are being scaled back, restructured, or removed from default user experiences.

These developments are affecting the ability of SMEs to reach customers online, reducing their visibility and increasing dependency on large intermediaries. These risks undermining competition and limiting diversity in Europe’s digital economy.

This event brings together policymakers, platform representatives, business associations, and SME voices to discuss how the DMA can be implemented in a way that preserves fair access, choice, and competitiveness.

Kindly note that, due to limited capacity, registrations are subject to confirmation by the organisers.
