1st EU-Israel Business Round Table: The Start-Up Nation Meets Brussels

The increased integration of developing countries into the global trading system continues to transform the trade landscape. The logic of such integration is that firms can no longer just rely on being competitive in the domestic, or even regional market to ensure their long-term survival. It is rather through internationalization and being competitive within an international context that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can become more sustainable and contribute to their growth and job creation.

Friends of SMEs is an initiative comprised of corporations and multinational companies who support SMEs through the sharing of knowledge and resources. We bind together universities, academic research institutions, interest groups, corporations and EU stakeholders who share a common interest and belief that SMEs are the backbone of our European Economy. Through our work, we wish to create widespread awareness on the issues and challenges that SMEs face today and in the future.
